Walkalyze

Privacy policy

Effective October 12, 2026

Digital Mundo LLC ("Digital Mundo," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Walkalyze iOS application ("Walkalyze" or the "App"), which shows your workouts and their routes from Apple Health on a map. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Walkalyze.

Privacy at a glance

Walkalyze is built so that your health and location data stays on your iPhone. It has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting. We never receive your workouts, your routes, your location, or anything about how you use the App, and we do not sell data or track you across apps or websites.

What we collect

Nothing. Digital Mundo does not collect any personal information through Walkalyze.

Apple Health data

With your permission, Walkalyze reads two kinds of data from Apple Health: workouts (activity type, date, duration and distance) and workout routes (the GPS points recorded during a workout). It only reads; it never writes to or changes your Health data.

  • Health data is used only to draw your routes and work out your exploration stats (tiles, explored area and new-ground distance) on your iPhone.
  • Walkalyze keeps a copy of your routes on your iPhone so the map opens quickly. That copy is excluded from iCloud and device backups and is never synced anywhere. You can rebuild it from Apple Health at any time in Stats › Cache & Diagnostics.
  • Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with or sold to anyone, and never stored in iCloud.

You can change or remove Walkalyze's access in the Health app (Profile › Privacy › Apps › Walkalyze) or in iOS Settings › Health. Deleting the App deletes everything it stored.

Your location

If you allow it, Walkalyze uses your current location while the App is open, only to centre the map on where you are. Your current location is not stored or recorded.

The internet and Apple Maps

The map itself is Apple Maps. To draw it, iOS downloads map imagery from Apple for the area you are looking at. To show the name of the place on screen (for example "Manhattan, New York"), the App asks Apple's geocoding service for the place at the centre of the map. These requests go to Apple and are governed by Apple's privacy policy; they do not include your workouts or routes, and they do not come to us. Walkalyze makes no other network requests.

Sharing

If you tap Share, the App makes an image of the map you are looking at, with your routes or tiles drawn on it, and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes after that is up to you.

Sample data

If there are no routes in Apple Health, the App can show sample walks so you can see how it works. The sample walks are made up by the App; they are not anyone's real data, and they are not saved.

Permissions

  • Health: to read your workouts and their routes.
  • Location (While Using the App): to centre the map on you.

Walkalyze works without location access. Without Health access it can only show sample data.

Children

Walkalyze does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support request, contact us and we will delete it.
